well the gear box, after getting rebuilt with some new parts, has been put back in the car and now one of the lights on the dash has come up which he says must have something to do with the gear box as it didnt happen b 4 the gear box was in. hes gonna take it to a guy he knows and plug it in the computer and see if it will tell him the problem......

my mum told me she doesnt think i'll get it back b 4 christmas. im hoping i'll be able to pick it up this thursday. i dont think i will but im hoping.......

ok so i dont have my car back yet...... i miss it :(

n e way all is not bad in my automobile life, i have now finished the splitter. i will admit its not perfect but i dont see how it matters as its gonna get bashed around anyway but its alot better then it was. i can kinda still see the crack but not really, only if u get it in the right light.

heres the splitter complete, looks much better then compared to when i first got it..............

Image

and this is the corner where the crack was.........

hopefully WHEN i get my car back i'll be able to do some pics once its on my car. hopeing it will look well good.......

n e one know how i can do that photoshop thing to see what my car looks like if i do stuff to it?

you gotta take photos of the parts in a position as though thats where theyd be on the car ie to fit a photo of a splitter onto a photo of a polo. the photo has to be at the same angle as that of the splitter, otherwise you run into a pile of difficulty :P I put alloys onto mine through photoshop when i first had it - the angle was important otherwise things look flat and nearly 2d :P

well so far so good.... kinda....

well this i got my MOT due on the 11th and my road tax was due on the 31st december........so wat ur probably thinking..... well..... my cars still at my cousins garage but all is not lost. i got my road tax and spoke to my cousin and hopefully he'll be able to get my car finished and do an mot for me so i can pick it up this saturday. should be smoother then silk when its finally fixed. the engine and gear box are all in the car but theres still a problem theyre having problems fixing so fingers cross it'll be ready for saturday.

so far my car has had a new clutch and the gear box and engine have been removed and rebuilt with a load of new parts so my car will hopefully be just like its rolled out of the factory.

if i get it back i would of gone without it for 4 weeks and 6 days.

it'll be just like christmas all over again.

will get more updated pics of my car when i get it back.

looks like i wont be getting my car back this week after all. theres a problem that the computer is saying has something to do with the accelerator pedal. hopefully he'll get it fixed and he'll be bringing it to me next saturday. well all is not lost yet.

my splitter is waiting to go on soon along with the new back box. on the plus side hes mot'ing it for me so i wont have to worry about any dodgy mechanics doing that.

but out of curiousity, if i were to sell my car how much do u people believe i could get for it?

its 1 litre x reg 5 doors silver
engine and gear box have been rebuilt with loads of new parts so they should be perfect again.
new clutch.
good condition in and out.
about 55,000 miles.

i like the car but know one day im gonna need a bigger car, whether it be for speed or for a family, which luckily i dont have yet.

let me know your opinions.........

Hehe fair play. Umm judged against mine, maybe in the region of £4500 - £5000. (well that would be dealer prices) For private, probs something between 3k and 4.5k i would think. Not too sure really:P
