Use the lassoo tool to select the car then hold Ctrl Shift and I (select Inverse) then press Ctrl Shift and U (desaturate) and you should be left with the car in colour and the background in Black and White.

Hope that helps Alun, post a pic when you're done.

Pretty much yeah, just practice and a lot of time :D

Here's one of mine I done a few minutes ago, only took about 5 mins

Just make sure its the Polygonal Lassoo tool you use and don't click too fast otherwise it joins where ever you are to the point you started. Take it steady and you'll get perfect selections every time 8)

There's the magnetic lasso tool in photoshop, which is easier than freehand. Otherwise, there's the Pen tool, which is slightly more complicated.

Hold down your cursor on the lasso tool button, and a menu should come up, and it should be on there 8)

Magnetic Lassoo tool is only worth using though if the pic is real high quality I find, otherwise it tends to wander if you're not careful.

Can't say I've used that one, try and get a copy of Photoshop 7.
