What to get next ?

Post by mjwigham »

I can't decide what to do about my car.

I love the polo, its served me well. I just want something with a bit more power.

Looked at Civic Type-r's, but there are so many about.
S3's are a bit pricey to get a good one.
Anyone got any ideas for around £10k

A Mk4 R32 would be a nice step up, as would a new Polo GTI. Anniversary Mk4 Golf will be slightly cheaper

The VRs belongs to our very own site owner Josh.

I wonder what he's replacing it with?

I'd go for the Mk4 R32 if you can afford to insure it, that car is something special. either that or there's the leon cupra R

Seat Cupra or FR the 160Bhp Diesel would be pretty sweet.

Without stating any of your requirements for a car, it is hard to come up with suggestions.

Although if you are looking for something that you won't lose too much through depreciation, a M(ini) C(ooper) S can be had for that money.

Personally if I was in the market and had that kind of money, I would be looking for one of these. Enough power out of the box and one the best handling small hatches produced. I wouldn't have any other model apart from that one though.

I considered a Clio Trophy before getting the Golf, they are superb hot hatches the best handling car I have ever driven, Evo had a group test in France where on a twisty road it was keeping in touch with a F360. If any one says they are rubbish they haven't driven one, also despite what people say they are also very reliable.

Only reason I went for the Golf over one was I really needed a bigger car for my pet Lab to be able to fit in the boot.

I have to say that even I would be swayed by a Clio Trophy like that one - what a car! 8)

The Clio Trophy does look, and go, rather special!

In kind of the same mould, DC2 Honda Integra Type-R? Highly recommended by Evo for having one of the greatest front wheel drive chassis' ever. Not big on practicality though.
