Had my 1.4 TDi remapped at Jabbasport today

Post by freakyeke »

I had my ECU remapped & car rolling roaded at Jabbasport, near Peterborough, today at a cost of £425 and here are the results:

BHP before: 72.7 bhp @ 2571 rpm.
BHP after: 107.1 bhp @ 3320 rpm.

Torque before: 207 Nm @ 2406 rpm.
Torque after: 264 Nm @ 2657 rpm.

What a difference it's made. I really can't believe how amazing it is now  The car no longer dies a death at 3000 rpm :D

I'd recommend anyone who's looking to get this done, go to Jabbasport. They were polite, friendly and their waiting area is top notch. You can play their X-box or watch DVD's

oh boy! i was waiting for someone to get this done, now i definitely wanna do this after seeing those figures!? i mean standard the 1.4 TDi isn't no slouch, especially on torque... but after the remap it must've made a helluva difference!

can i just ask have u got any other engine mods, ie. induction kit, exhaust, bigger wheels?? obviously i kno jabbasport are the dogs genitals when it comes to vw performance but was it the only place u tried? i was thinkin of going to JBS and do a phase 2 remap as i've got some engine mods..

u'kno im almost ready to give up on my polo but if i could do this, i'd fall in love all over again!!

You would not believe the difference this has made

I was going to go to JBS, they were charging £411.25 inc VAT for the remap and quoted me another £50+VAT for the rolling road. Total time for the remap - 1 hour.

Jabba were doing the custom remap with rolling road for £425 inc VAT. Total time - 4hours.

 35bhp increase!!! Thats awesome!!! wonder what sort of increase you would get from the GTI engine. I wouldnt expect anything like 35 bhp, but surely its gotta be more than say 10-15bhp.

Where are Jabbasport and JBS based??

I'd rather not have a polo shaped van, but i know deisels have more tuning capabilities, but like to see what figures are likely to be produced from the GTI.

i personally dont think there is anything van-ish about a car just because it has a diesel engine. they are more reliable, give far better mpg, easily tunable and go on forever. yea ok the older ones sound naff and they do tend to smoke like hell but hey who cares. my next car will def be a diesel :D

I think you'll be looking at only a 10bhp increase on a GTi

Diesels are definitely the way forward

man i can't stop thinkin about the possibilities once i get this done, i've got an exhaust and induction kit too! but i have got slightly bigger wheels..

i reckon a remapped 1.4 TDi could give a GTi a run for its money in a straight line drag... correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the standard 1.4 TDi have more torque than a GTI already??

freakyeke... get your car down santa pod with another 6n2 GTi!!

A stock GTi has 125bhp and 112 lb ft of torque.

Last time I looked the 1.4 TDi had 144lb ft torque standard.

Be an interesting race between a tuned TDi and a GTi.
