tailgate open liht always on! help!

my tailgate open light has started coming on all the time and i dont know why as its blatantly shut!!!!

sometimes when you turn the engine off slam it then get back in the car its off for about 5 mins before it comes back on does anybody know whats wrong, or has this happened to anyone esle!??

mine has never come on haha. didnt know we had them. Mine is a 1.4 match. where bouts is it? prob just the bulb, or maybe i really dont have one :? haha

Have you checked for any leaks from the rear washer pipe? That can sometimes set the boot warning light off.

Other than that it might be that the contact for it has corroded, or some other annoying electrical thing.

yea when mine did that it was because of a leaking rear washer jet in the boot panel

Its on the left hand side under the plastic bit :P You should see it if you look underneath hehe :P

its the warning light on the dash and my rear water jet has got weak recently i thought that might be it!!!!

id say its your washer pipe mate coz thats why mine was staying on all the time!

yeah it was as i suspected! the washer pipe was just pouring water into the tail gate should be all sorted now!!!!

Do the mk5 1.4 match have this? if so mine has never worked since i had it.....also the light in the boot has never worked. changed the bulb to no avail. maybe a fuse. just too lazy to figure out which one haha

If my old 1.0E had it, I'm pretty sure a 1.4 Match would have it.
