i got a 6n2 polo and i got 30mm lowering springs on it now. they do change for the standard springs and still use the standard shocks. theyre not all that easy cause u have to take it apart to get the spring of and make sure u put everything on in the right place. i got my godfather to do mine as he knew wat he was doing. just make sure the spring doesnt come out of the spring clamps when ur doing it otherwise chances are u wont have a bottom jaw. u have to use the spring clamps befor u can take the spring of or put the new one on.
theyre not the quickest thing to put on. i think my godfather did the front ones one day and the back ones the next day. u could probably get them done in a day but dont rush urself to do it.
hate to burst ur bubble, but there are people on here that say u shouldnt go n e lower then 50mm with standard shocks and lowering springs. not totally sure for myself but thats wat i read on this site. there is a guy called cymrupolo on here who is selling his 60mm lowering suspension kit (springs and shocks) for £110 delivered. dunno if it will fit ur car but u could always ask him and see.
Thats what I was gonna do, get coilies but money was a major issue. So I went for springs and shocks kit, lowered it by 80mm and seriously sorted the handling out. Looks the dogs to and only paid about 130.00 for them. Check out pictures here, mine's the green Mk4. http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... hp?t=27718
