Does anyone use Denso, NGK, or Bosch sparkplugs?

Post by liviococcia »

Hello Members
Have any members found using other spark plug manufacturers better than the VW OEM ones, especially if there using performance spark plug models i.e Silver, iridium or something else

Also, would changing spark plug leads from OEM to something else make any difference.

My car's details are below, i'm not sure which 'data sheet' code signifies engine model and type, i use BP ultimate petrol and i'm just thinking of ways to get the most and best out of it, without risk of damage (pinking/detonation/ increased noise or vibration).

Kind regards

I use Denso Iridiums in the Camry (because they're OEM), don't know as they're a better spark than any other sort, but the 60k service interval on them comes in useful when you have to change 6 at a time and 3 are under the injection manifold.

I use NGK Platinum in my Match 1.4 & BP Ultimate; goes well on both.

Someone said to me yesturday, that changing sparkplugs, and leads really gives a big power gain, because my car is just a standard auto, i'm trying to get every bit of performance out of it, this is why i'm asking.

has anyone used on there VW some stuff from Ecoteck, it's called PowerBooster, theres also some valve thing that goes on a vacume pipe, has anyone also used this?

I do think theres a definite benifit from BP Ultimate though, the car runs much better
