i have a 4 channel amp in my car
my 6x9s are running on HPF on channels 1 and 2
i have a sub running on LPF bridged on channels 3 and 4
if i turn the bass up the amp randomly cuts out for a second and then comes back on this keeps happnin randomly but when the bass is turned down rarely happens
the cables are connected fine
anyone have any ideas?

your sub is most probably 2ohm but your amp may not be 2ohm stable. most amps are but some do not like being run at 2ohm, and if a 2ohm sub is attached it would force the amp to show 2ohm when it cant, causing it to become unstable or possibly even damage it
or if you have a dvc sub you may have wired it incorrectly.
what equipment you got. make/model etc...

amp cutting out???
try using a bigger power cable, or check you've got a brilliant earth on ur chassis, the cuttin out means ur not getitn enough power from ur battery to ur amp, if it still keeps cutting out, get a power cap to suit ur amp, and ur get all the power u need!!!

check the sub / amps are compatable
cables are big enough / well connected
other than that you'll have to start fault finding by disconecting sub and trying it just on comps and just on sub etc
it's just gonna be trial and error really
the earth needs to be a good one
