My 8v custom doorpods..... OPINIONS?!

Just finished these.... custom fibreglass door pods for focal components.( tweeters to be mounted up higher somewhere) There gettin covered in grey alcantara along with the material part of the doorcard.... What you think???

well 8v doorcards dont normally hold speakers at all so ye there fairly different alright... ha. 16v ones hold smaller speakers flat against the doorcars. These only cost we 30euro to make an are a one off and will hopefully guide the sound better towards the face so Im happy enough so far.

Dont know bout material cost yet mate sorry... yet to buy it or might get them professionally trimmed. Aint sure....

there are 2 types of doorcards. one with speakers (as most of us seem to have) and one with a longer storage try.

for what it's worth it looks like you've done a tidy (although maybe unnecessary) job.

I dunno... all the 8v polos ive seen have none... Ive looked at bout 16 in 3 different scrapyards. Maybe its an Irish thing... ha just wanted somethin bit different, been off college for a few weeks so was bored and fiddlin.

And yeh mine do have speakers in them aswell lol. I work part time in a garage dedicated to german cars, mainly volkswagons and i have never seen a polo without speakers in the door cards.

Where were the speakers on your car then at standard??? I cant imagine where else they would be

Haha, that wooden doorcard is awesome!

Bobtknow helped me install my amp and sub the other night but i'm yet to install my comps upfront in the Polo.

I had a try but can't fit any the speaker wire through the wire tube and am going to have to fabricate some MDF baffles because the current door pockets aren't deep enough for the new speakers.

Anyone got any tips for routing the new speaker wire into the door cards? I can't use the stock wiring as its f ucked.

Well ill take a pic of standard ones tomorrow at some stage an throw it up. There just like door pockets the full length... Surely some one has seen em?! ha.

My polo just came with some massive 10cm speakers up on top of the dash... probably about as loud as the wooden doorcrad there ha.

That s**t crazy man... Rough but purely just for insane noise... I seen the video of your fone hopin about on the roof. Its sometin else man... crazy... Can only imagine how slow it is tho...ha
