mk2 golf gti steering wheel ..will it fit?

ive got the chance of a 89 golf gti steering wheel , will it fit a 88 polo?

i believe it all depends on the spline size! i'm pretty sure the later mk2's had the same size spline as the mk3 polo which i believe is the same as the golfs etc.

might be worth checking but i'm pretty sure it should be ok!

just tried it...no workie, polo=small spindle ...golf=big

It can be done

You have to get the splined adaptor sleeve off the golf, then cut the parrallel sleeve section off the back of the adaptor.

Et vola, 1 mk2 breadvan complete whith golf steering wheel!

I did it a xmas, when i found a gti in the breakers n got the wheel for a fiver!

yeah thats a option...didnt want to pay for a adaptor though
