Hi Guys,

Right my latest plan is to squeeze every inch of power out of my 1.0E. What mods will it need and whats the cost gonna be like?

Yes you are probably thinking why do this to a 1.0L, but the fact is I love my car and I wouldn't want to change it to a GTI for example :P

Im pretty sure ill need an induction kit and a remap, but what ones do you guys think are best? And what is the maximum BHP I can up it to?

All help is appreciated!

It's been covered before, here. It should answer most of your questions.

For the induction kit, I'd recommend a BMC with a good cold air feed. There's an excellent guide on clublupo, here.

I'm not sure what gains these sort of performance modifications would get, to be quite honest. I considered putting on some modifications, but I've more or less given up on doing anything else to my car.

Ah, that just brought back some memories of owning my 1.0E :D

But basically you have to think about the percentage gains you'd get from doing anything to a 1.0. Even if you manage to squeeze 20% that is still only going to take you up to 60bhp, and in the grand scheme of things I don't think the benefits would really outweigh the cost.

Induction kit, maybe an exhaust but other than that I wouldn't go crazy on hunting for horsepowers. I'd suggest putting the money into decent suspension, some lightweight alloys and quality performance tyres.

Induction kit it is then. I just need to know how to fit it - that one ollie linked to is for a lupo and it kinda confused me :P

I dont know what I have to buy or anything! Let alone be able to fit it :(

The Lupo 1.0L engine is the same (or similar) to the 1.0L in the Mk5. Take off the engine cover, and it should look the same as the one in the Club Lupo guide.

£150 brand new at least. If i were you, on a 1.0litre, the only worthwhile mods regarding performance would be an exhaust and induction kit. You will really struggle to see any gains even with them. 2-3bhp maybe.

:shock: lol but an induction will give the engine more of a vroom sound - im right in saying this ye?

Yes, it'll sound louder with an induction kit fitted.

Excellent 8) It needs a roar to it. It went in for service today, and I got a brand new 1.4 SE 9n3 - boy was it fun to drive. So fast it was unbelievable, and it actually had the sound of power in it :P

Best thing you can do is take the pipe for the oil fumes out of the air box and put it on a filter of its own. This will make a great difference !!

I have one, but build quality is s**t! and in general aint that good, but in all fairness does make a good sound!!

Awesome - i was thinking of just changing the panel filter. Im not that confident with all this piping and taking the airbox off and all that - besides its more concealed that way, and looks better :D
