Front Splitter?

Post by ticki »

I know this might sound a bit silly, but I need to take my front splitter off my car before I drop it another 30mm, otherwise I will never get home in one piece.

So big question, has anybody taken theirs off? Maybe for a paint job etc, Was it easy to take off? Do you need any special tools?

thanks

It's relatively easy, but fiddly.

Theres a screw at either end of the splitter where it meets the wheel arch. The rest of it is all clipped into the bottom of the bumper.

Ideally you need to jack the front of the car up and get it supported on axle stands, or on ramps. Then it's simply a case of using a flathead screwdriver to open up the metal bits that the splitter clips into, then push the plastic bit through and out. You just work your way around doing that.

If you can jack it up and have a look underneath it should all become clear.
