Post by clees »

Hi guys,

Over the past couple of weeks my keys haven't been operating the central locking. The batteries are fairly new so i don't really know what the problem is??? :?

Please help !

it could be that they need to be re-synchronised. Mine has done it in the past - all I did was put the key in the drivers side door and locked it - then it seemed to work fine. It worked for me, i'm sure someone has posted about this before.

Hope this helps. Sorry if it doesnt.

My central locking does that from time to time.

I think it can be to do with low battery power in the fob, causing it to lose sync with the car. To sort mine out I just put the key in the ignition turn so that the electrics come on but not the engine, and hold the unlock button on the fob for about a minute, this normally sorts it out.
Incidentally the VW handbook that came with the car mentioned that the fob can lose sync with your car if you press the lock/unlock button from outside the fobs range.

Hope this helps a bit.
