RX Colour choices

Post by Tigz »

My rims are polished, and the centres are going to powdercoating on Wednesday.
Just still not decided what colour.

My mate thinks as bright a silver as possible, but Ive been thinking slightly darker silver than standard.
He thinks this may make them look too small.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a previous thread with any pics?

Many thanks

Most definately in my opinion. The darker silver/mid grey looks excellent with a polished rim against the silver paintwork.

I don't think they will look any smaller being a slightly darker shade.

Obviously not the same rim, but something around this colour would look very good on the centres IMO. Being darker they would obviously hide the dirt a little better too !

Kenny15's old Polo GTi on darker-grey centres:

On a side-note, I have decided to keep my BBS (and NOT sell them), and have them refurbished in time for GTi International in the aforementioned high-power silver finish. Not chrome, but something approaching that sort of finish, hopefully!!

and nick polo's red gti with 'shadow chrome' refurbished BBS'. Look excellent IMO and would be my choice, but each to their own.

Darker grey would be my choice, gives some contrast against the silver paintwork.

I have two sets of BBS wheels, on my winter ones (fully powder coated)
I have the darker grey in the middle aswell and a light silver powdercoat on the lips. My summer ones are waiting till Easter for a refurb thinking of having a polished lip with an even darker silver in the centre

great looking 5-door there!

I'd say go for the dark grey, anthracite colour like they use on the TVR wheels.. I'm contemplating the same for mine but my car is grey already so it might clash, what do u guys reckon? only have reservations because i too have the thought in my head darker wheel might look smaller plus its been said on here BBS silver is hard to match.. :?

sorry to hijack the thread tigz..
