Alarm problems

rite, ive just replaced the standard head unit with my pioneer one, everythings working fine with the head unit, but for some reason the alarm is now playing up.

My remote central locking has stopped working, ive tried re-synchronising the keys but still nothing happens when i press either lock or unlock on the key. I currently have to use the actual key to open and lock the doors, but this doesnt activate the alarm when you lock the car, that little red light next to the door pin doesnt flash.

but the weird thing is, if i unlock the car and sit in it without starting the engine, the alarm goes off. it also just goes off randomly when the cars locked.

anyone any ideas why the remote locking from the buttons on my key aint workin? if i can sort that out then it'll probably all go back to normal!

ive tried new batteries in the key, tried the spare key, and both wont work. Something must have happened during the changing of my head unit. Another guy in the electrical section got exactly the same problem

hi mate my gti has started to do the same and ive changed my radio too
mine goes off when i've got the boot open just sometimes
try switching the internal senors off (on drivers side pillar)

just put the standard gamma headunit back in and everything is back to normal and in perfect working order, anyone any ideas whats up when i put the aftermarket cd player in?

thats strange i used to work for a car audio company and ive never had it happen to any of the 7 polos ive done (3 of which were gti's) plus its never done it to my own currently got the ALPINE-IVA-D310RB.
