big problems with gear box...need help

every time i go into 5th gear if i slow down by 10mph (if im doin 50 and slow down to 40) it slips out of 5th gear and i end up fukin coasting at hi speeds!!!

obviously this is a major problem
can anyone shed some light on my situation plzzz

if i need a new gear box could someone tell me how much it costs and labour.

i have a 1996 1.6 6n

sounds like it's knackered. 5th gear syncro perhaps or the splines?

to get a new box fitted you're looking at approx 250 in labour.

1. Get your gearbox re-built
2. Get a reconditioned gearbox (with all the bearings changed)

how much do these 2 cost??
