Your's are the first lot aren't they? The new ones are a ridiculous size (going from the pics) they're pretty much 6.5" subs

I would have gone for a set but didn't want doorbuilds.

Yes, when I bought mine the tweeters and x-overs had not yet been developed.

These are still a bonkers size though!

The neww XXX comps and Subs really seem to have pushed every boundary going

I'm still yet to hear one though, I've seen 2 being used in bass race but not been in the car with any.

If mine is anything to go by though they will be beasts

I've not heard either as well, TBH Ive been out of it for the past couple of years, family and all that..

Still not heard a set of fully installed set of the old xxx mids yet though

I do remember seeing that the Mids came out first and weren't being offered with tweets and x-overs.

I'm sure they'll sound spot on though, I've been happy with every RE sub I've heard so far.
