Looking to put new rims on my 1.2 5-door 9n

Get 17s m8 and lower it 30mm on eibachs, that`s what i`ve done on my gt without any problems, looks good imo and hasn`t lost any of it`s comfort

Agreed, I have 17" with an eibach suspension kit also. Still feels comfortable but you stick a bit more to the road, I like it, and of course, it looks nicer

Nope still the original. I did have the "volkswagen sport suspension -15mm" before though.

So the difference with the eibach springs (-35mm) is now only around 20mm, so I don't think it will give any problems to my standard shock absorbers. If it does I'm putting Billsteins but as for now I don't see any problems coming up

yeah thats what i meant! VW sports shocks... i think they do make a difference? since this is a 1.2 we're talking about with non sports shocks... ride be worse maybe

Well 30mm will just bring it down slightly, but was thinking if your spending near enough £500 you coud get coilovers, lower it 30 to start with, then if you wanted to go lower you could adjust them. Its just alot of people want to go lower after lowering 30/40mm, including myself. But its up to you. Im not sure about makes as i havn't really looked into it alot.
