What Wax?
What Wax?
What is a good wax for Silver paint? I want to get the paste stuff rather than spray on stuff, No more than £20. I want to cover light swirl marks, and give a nice glossy wet look finish if possible.
I been looking at Meguires NXT Tech Wax paste, Is there anything better out there for my money. I've herd of makes such as Poorboys and Sonus.
I've never waxed before.
Cheers
Neil
there was a website with loads of good stuff, i can find it now? cleanmycar.com? something like that any ideas?

Here is a couple of sites of the guys that I use for detailing products.
http://www.carwashnwax.com/10278/info.php?p=1&pno=0
http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/
Lots of info about the products and how to get the best results from them.
Hope this helps.

The Meguiars Tech Wax is very good in liquid form (I haven't personally used the paste wax). It's good at hiding swirls and provides good protection.
I don't think there are any other Waxes that mask swirl marks. Otherwise, you can use something like Autoglym Super Resin Polish, which masks swirl marks, or a glaze. And that could be topped off with a good quality wax, such as Poorboy's Natty's wax or P21s as mentioned above.

Cheers Guys. Cars going to be getting some TLC soon then. My dads got some super resin polish, so I'll get some of that on there first.
Should I apply polish in straight lines as opposed to circular motion?
Just have to decide between the P21S, Poor Boys, Or the Meguires NTX
Clean your car was the website I was looking for!

The Collinite is meant to last for ages, too. I look forward to seeing the results.
Also, you should apply the polish and wax in a side-to-side motion

Ollie, dunno if you would fancy pm'ing me your routine and what you use? PLEEEAAASSSEEE!
I'm usually just
gold class shampoo(2 bucket method)
clay with megs mild bar and quick detailer if needed
Dry with megs chamois
wax with megs nxt gen or gold class stuff.
Bouts the jist of it really, window and wheels i do etc
But am i missing any important stages....Fill me in please!
Yep, I'll send you a PM in a minute about the detail I did today, Phil
Right, a glaze is a non-abrasive polish that is used to mask most imperfections (swirls, scratches etc). It's usually put on top of a freshly polished surface to enhance the gloss.
Personally, I wouldn't use an abrasive polish without the aid of a random orbit/orbital polisher. I feel like I would muck it up if I did it by hand.
*EDIT* Whoops, owned by the detailing master!
