HOW TO TAKE GEAR NOB OFF?!?!?!?!?!?!???

any ideas how to take it off? wb plz

pull the gaitor off the surround at the botom its elasticated on........ then flip it over the top of the gearknob basicly so you cant see the knob and ther will be a silver clip that wraps aroung the knob to keep it in place hacksaw that off and pull it off. hope this helps mate.........

i lfted the gaitor as ben said
but theres a gold/silver clip that holds in on
i put a big screwedriver in it to bend it out and it popped off

This stumped me aswell but what these guys are saying is right. The gold/silver clip is kinda clamped around the metal 'pole' bit of the gear stick. put a screwdriver in the opening and prize it apart so its loose. Then yank the old knob off and jobs a good'un. After that you should be able to attach your new gearknob with grub screws provided.

I found that the gaitor didnt fit over the bottom of my new gearknob and was therefore loose. all you need to do is get a black (or whatever colour your gaitor is) cable tie and tie the gaitor up against the bottom of the knob! snip away the untidy bits and it'll look tasty!
