Replacing Gamma with Alpine

Post by kriswithak »

Planning to replace the Gamma in my GTI with my Alpine 9855R tomorrow. Took it out tonight using the cut up card method, there are the two normal blocks with power and speakers on, but there is also a smaller set of blocks above the normal ones.

What are these for and can I just whip 'em off?

TIA

You Will need to buy an ISO adapter from Halfords or somewhere, and its Just Plug and Play !

I have a harness that came with the Alpine that converts from ISO blocks to the Alpine fitment, I assumed the two blocks (black and brown I think) connected to, it was the smaller set (blue I think) above the normal ones that have confused me.

All done! The extra cables were for the CD autochanger. Alpine 9855r is now in! The harness it came with was exactly what I needed, and the cable set up was exactly as it was on the Audi which had no "accessory" point.
