Post by 1stcarsapolo »

HI,

gettin my bodywork fully sorted soon and was hoping to remove the side indicator, it will probably cause hassle with the law so I would like to try fit new shape polo wingmirrors withe the indicator built in (Shown below). I dont want chav m3 design with indicators.
OR DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY ALTERNATIVES TO GET AROUND THIS PROBLEM???

Just wondering has anybody done this mod or have any idea how to go about it???
Would anybody be able to do aImage photoshop for me???

Dont Know if they will fit or not, but i'm sure you could make them fit, also you would have to think about the wiring for them, ie the actual indicator,

6n2 Ones do not have the indicator in the Wing mirror No, And also you will need some sort of side indicator to pass an MOT

Iv read somewhere that you dont need a side indicator aswell. As long as the front one can be viewed from side on..... as some1 else said. You could also look into modifying some mirrors youself by setting some LED's in them somehow and wire them back to the relay.

Il be interested to find out the progress on this i mite try it some day

Im sure that so long as the indicator is visible from the side you dont have to have side repeaters. I think this applies to cars with their indicators on the indicators on the inside of their headlights. I dont think the wiring would be too difficult as you could wire it to the exsisting wire system from the original side indicators.

Hello,

Just to make sure, the 6n2 mirrors go straight into the 6n? Or do you need some slight modifications to the base plate?!

Interesting...
