Desperately need to upgrade from the Beta unit in my 9n, got about £250-300 to spend, want it to run 2 amps and 2 sets of components, has to sorta go with the red and blue lights in the dash, and with mp3 cababilities. I've been lookin at the usual suspects - pioneer, alpine, kenwood but theres just too many cant decide. Anyone any ideas? Cheers. Tim
For sound quality people always seem to prefer pioneer or alpine. I however have a sony mdx m690 (i think) head unit and i think sony's are more attractive than a lot of others. All comes down to what you want out of it really!
I just found the Clarion DXZ938R which i think looks amazin, and has the blue and red lights to go with the dash, dont think its mp3 but i can live with that, its got Dolby Digital II with a centre channel and 3 4v pre outs.
Dont know how to insert picture but if anyones interested you can find it on www.cel-direct.com
I have a Clarion DXZ838RMP, it's a fantastic unit!
The 928 was voted best MP3 unit by Total Car Audio last year, so the 938 is an improved version of that.
I recommend Clarion 150%. You'll never go wrong with them, unlike Sony (who haven't mastered the art of playing CDs...they were good at one point, but are appaling now!) and Pioneer (whose displays seem to have a short expiry date)
I paid 249.99 for it from Letsbuycaraudio.com, i looked around and it was the cheapest there. They were good, it arrived exactly when they said it would, which is unusual. buttons were green wen i pulled out of the packet but they light up red. its sweet
