Dealing with scratches

Post by bobtknob »

i was playing pool last night and i came out to find some lovely new scratches on the side of my car
about 10 inches long
15mm wide right down to the white primer
how do you think is the best way to tackle this?
i was thinkin touch up paint and then t-cut once its dried and hope for the best
any ideas?

You could get a smart repair bloke over to sort out the scratch, which is the best option.

If you want to DIY it, try one of these, to repair the scratch.

Yeah, that's what is basically contained in the link above. I wouldn't recommend using T-Cut though, you need a more abrasive polish to get rid of the sanding marks. And you need at least a 2000-grit W&D paper.

I'd recommend some Farecla G3 compound, but I think you can only get it in trade sizes.

Maybe try asking your local bodyshop for a sample, as I don't reckon you'll need much. I may have a small vial of some lying around. I'll have a check later.
