Central Locking

Post by farmio »

Wondering if anyone can help.

Ive just replaced my two passenger side doors due to accident damage from the previous owner.

Everything went pretty well but something doesnt seem right with the central locking.

on the passenger side, the door pins will only lock their own door when pushed down. If the central locking is engaged by the outside key then all is normal and everything lock.

I can remember if this is normal but i thought that if you pushed a door pin down it locked all the doors?

Wondering if i might need to bleed the system or something?

Can someone confirm what happens on theirs?

On my 1996 1.6 GLX just pressing the passenger door pin down didn't lock all the locks just that door, I think it was the same with the drivers door too. So only using the key locked all the locks.

On my 1997 16v I don't think I've tried yet, hmm I'll try it out soon.

well my drivers side pin locks all doors but all the other pins only lock that door.

Key locks work as they should.

I just thought that the passenger side front pin should lock and open all doors.

Its been a long day so im probably wrong.
