sachs clutch kit. please look if you have one

Post by Tigz »

Anyone know the part number for these?
I need to check the correct parts.

Ive spoke to GFS and Euro car parts, neither are able to find the part listed for my engine (AVY)
Hes found one for the older GTI but it states 'Not for 1.6 16v'

The dealer are quoting me a trade price of £144.63 + vat, but Euro car parts want only £64 plus VAT trade.

ok
Bit of confusion.

Both GFS and Euro car parts used to list one for the Polo GTI as a 210mm clutch.

This has been superseeded by Sachs, and now only lists one at 200mm stating 'Not for 1.6 16v'

I have spoken to Sachs who confermed this, but has said that this is the correct sachs part number for the Polo GTI Clutch kit.

3000581001

GFS £76.50 + VAT (Trade price)
Euro Car parts £64.24 + VAT (Trade Price)

Also to note, the release bearing/imput shaft housing bracket is rearlly poor.
If your changing the clutch its worth replacing this also.

Part number of the bracket: 085141181
Cost £2.37 + VAT (Trade price)

What a carry on!

Tigz: I'm really interested in what information you can find out. Mine is also an AVY engine and when i popped into my local Eurocar parts, they also said they were unable to get hold of any sort of clutch for my car! Be it Sach, Luk or Valeo. :?

Think my release bearing is knackered so am looking to replace in the very near future!

Cheers

Its a different clutch I think mike.
I'll post the phone number for Sachs in the morning for you mate.

M@Turner I work in the transport maintainance industry, its not who you know but what you can find out 8)

J-GTi imo OE spec Clutchs are more than up to the job for a none tuned engine.
Myself, I dont see the point in spending more than you have to.

Fingers crossed it can be in before Pod!

Clutch kit

Post by 1 GTI »

I bought a sachs clutch kit from euro car parts about 7 months ago and it cost me £98 including postage which was £10, so the actual clutch kit was £88, and that was for a Polo GTI AVY engine code aswell

So it would be different even though the engine code is the same AVY?

GSF stock one for the Lupo GTI 1.6 16V AVY for £115 (code R-3000859801)

Sorry, I forgot the Lupo shared the later AVY engine!
The bell housing is different, so I dont know if it uses the same clutch.
I would suspect is does, but I do not know.
May be an idea to call VW and ask them to check if its the same clutch.
My reg is X686 PWL, if you give them that and your own reg they'll be able to tell you :)
