I've just brought myself a set of Bucket seats, they were 2nd hand and need covering so I'm not putting them in permanently just yet but I want to remove one of my standards to see if i'll need to buy a sub frame for them or if they'll just fit in and not need one.
My problem is, how do you remove the standard seats, I've been told its only a couple of bolts and they are free but I can't find which bolts to undone.
If anyone has done this before and could reply with some points or even pictures that would be brilliant.
Thanks
Standard Seat Removal

I think i know the bolt you mean. You put the seats all the way back so that you can see a small bolt under the front of the seat next to the slide leaver and then once thats un bolted the whole runner system and seat will slide out the back of the runners?
Is there anyway of getting the seat off of the runner system so I can use that runner frame for my new buckets or do I have to but a sub frame for that?
Thanks a lot mate, very helpful.

Well when I got my new seats I thought the same i.e using the old frames, but I couldn't find a way to use the old frames. You probably could if you will willing to cut and weld them to the new set but I'm not 100%. I bought new subframes tha fit into the original runners, not cheap but I prefer to pay the extra rather than bolting them into my floor.

Biddle, what frames did you buy? Can you just buy universal polo subframes that my seats can just bolt onto or do you need to buy frames that are specific to the buckets that I have brought?
If you just brought universal ones could you let me know which ones you have and if possible where I can get a pair from?
Thanks mate.

They were sparco frames I got mate. They fit into Mk3 golf I think as well, but they didnt fit the seat (the frames were narrower than the seat runners), so I had to add extra to the frames in order to get them to fit. If you ring Demon tweeks just say what seat you got and what car, and that you want them to fit the car not bolt in ones and they'll sort you out. Or you could try and find out if the frames are removable from the golf seats because this may be a cheaper alternative.

Well another alternative is to get the mesurements of how far apart your runners are and how spaced out the holes are then ringing demon tweeks with that. Chances are if they dont have something that fits exactly, with a little bit of work you can make them fit. Im not saying it cant be done but cutting the old frame off looks like it could be a lot of hard work. Plus if you ever need to put original seats back in you be left trying to reattach the runners. Take one out and have a look and see if theres any way you can get them off. Then let me know and il look a fool about everything Ive said lol
