squeaking brakes

I keep hearing the brakes squeak when they are applied at low speeds.
Is this likely to just be the pads? Last time i checked i they were nearing the kast iof their life and the car gets driven pretty hard!

Check your pads

Just take off whichever wheel the sound is coming from then take a lookie to see how thin your pads/discs are. There is a possibility the disc is warped slightly.

I have had a polo 6N and a now have a polo 9N, both cars brakes squeaked even some times sound like scraping, I think it's brake dust. I had my 6N brakes cleaned but after a while the same thing happened. Could be quality or compatibly of brake pads and discs causing a lot of brake dust, guessing could be.

I had the same thing, found out it was brake dust in the rear 2....
