Need some advice please!
Hello Everyone.. First i gotta say nice work on the site! I was really after a little bit of advice. I have around 10 - 11k too spend on a car and have been looking at an 02 polo gti but i`ve now been told that the lupo gti is a tad more fun and also a bit less on insurance, i`m 21 years old and have 1 years NCB would be great if anyone could shed some information / advice on which would be the best buy?

when i was looking at buying a newer car, i looked at the polo and lupo, both in gti guise, the lupo was £1778 a year and the polo was £1845 i'm 19 with no no claims and 2 years experience, low crime area. my quotes were from www.its4me.com their very good or www.cis.co.uk also good will give you 25% off your first policy. hope this was of help.

I too also was looking at both the Lupo and the Polo, I opted for the Polo in the end because like Josh mentioned it does have a lot more spec going for it and plus safety-wise, I'd rather be in a Polo than a Lupo should I be involved in an accident...touch wood that never happens. the Lupo is just a bit too small for my liking...

Im 18 and can't afford to get any of the above be it through insurance or other reasons but if I had the cloice i would gor for the Polo. I have grown up with Polos and I have 1 (bit of bias there) and I think they are topps. Issues such as saftey come into it aswell as there being more equipmenton the Polo. I have never driven or been in a Lupo but I have driven the Polo GTi and thats fun enough mate. What car did u have before?
Thanks for all the advice guys, its appreciated
.. I Sold My Corsa shopping trolly ( 1.2 ) a couple of months ago... just looking for something a bit more fun with a bit better build quality
but i agree with you guys the polo would be the better opition... plus i can get a baby seat in the back
Just in case... What kind of mods would be ideal too start of though? was considering throwing on some 17" boots from the start and lowering kit.... but without doing too many engine mods is there much too do?

i've got a 2001 polo 1.4 16v 100bhp model and i think the suspension is pretty much the same. i've dropped mine 90mm on fk highsport coilovers. its prolly a bit too low for some but handles absolutely amazingly, hardly any tyre scrubbing (only when hammering it very hard round a tight corner) even 5 up i get no scrubbing. i've not driven a gti but my little 1.4 is great i never use anything less than super unleaded in it although optimax is my favourite and i've seen off many a 106 gti (including my mates, he has a filter and exhaust, also has a dyno proven 113.2bhp at the wheels). its not as quick as my civic but just as much fun. more bling too!!! hahaha will be posting some picture of what a coke can does at 100mph soon
