Planning Ahead

Post by LowPoloCo. »

Hey guys,

some of you may know that in about 5 months, my parents are selling my 9N, and giving me there 9N3.

basically, as its a 1.4SE, therefore its worth like, twice my 9N, im not going to be doing the bastardizing stuff i do to my 1.2E at the moment.

have you guys got any cheap and cheerful suggestions of mods that i can do to it?...

i was thinking grille change to either de-badged, or GTi? but does the GTi honeycombe only come with the GTi badge on it? coz i dont want that, and does the real GTi have honeycombe on EVERY grille? even fog lights?

its already lowered 15mm on VW Sports Springs, but i'd probably consider alloys, and maybe tints, is there anything else i should be thinking of?

cheers
ell

Like this: The new polo Gti Cup. Not available in the UK. Would look awsome, could get one from Germany.

Hmm, worth a try. Likely to be very expensive tho. May be more available when you get your 9n3 in 5 months, off ebay or something.

Unlikely to be on ebay.

I've spoke to VW about this kit and the rear bumper is around £200 from Germany, i'd imagine the front bumper will be the same if not more?

The rear spoiler for that CUP kit is definatly on ebay. I saw it a couple of days ago, not sure if it was the british or german ebay though.

yeah, i sent that guy a message to see if he'd be getting the rest of the kit...

havent checked for a response yet.

if its only £200 ish, then thats the same as a votex, near enough isnt it?

so can you get the GTi honeycombe grille without the GTi badge? coz im guessing if you remove it, it will leave some holes?

i dont really want to be saying my 75bhp 1.4 is a 150bhp Gti, or even a 180 brake cup!

no offence to those who HAVE done this, just not for me  ....

but, i cant talk, i have neons

the gti only has honeycombe on the main grille, not on the foglight surounds.

I have the complete Cup kit. It is being fitted at the moment. All in - with all bits and bobs to put it on properly it was £800 from VAG Parts. Got it painted last week, got the rear bumper fitted yesterday and it look really good (appart from the paint match is a bit off) There is LOADS to this kit and with no instructions it was a bit of a head ache to figure how it goes together.
Still waiting for a few bits, but when its all together I'll let you all know :o)
