It fits the car mechanically..but its made in a way that it wont fit into the gti rearskirt cut out..Its made to fit lower than the cut out, at the natural position of the standard bumper..so it would fit at the bottom of the standard bumper but not as high as the cut out!! I dont know how ste-9n fitted his inside the cutout.. I showed the garage his pics and they dont understand either..carmadaaron wrote:what do you mean it doesnt fit?abdnmoh wrote:I bought the same scorpion le mans backbox for my 9n but it doesnt fit with the rear gti spoiler how did u get urs to fit?? what did they do to get it fit?? need an answer asap..the cars in the dealer right now!!

i think in that case you'll need a custom made bracket to hold it up at the right position... why didnt you go custom made btw?abdnmoh wrote:It fits the car mechanically..but its made in a way that it wont fit into the gti rearskirt cut out..Its made to fit lower than the cut out, at the natural position of the standard bumper..so it would fit at the bottom of the standard bumper but not as high as the cut out!! Thought maybe the custom build one would have been a bit too noisy..might be forced to get that now.. the bracket idea wont work, as the shape of the actual box is elongated like this (), instead of being elongated horizontally as normal ones are, its elongated vertically..carmadaaron wrote:i think in that case you'll need a custom made bracket to hold it up at the right position... why didnt you go custom made btw?abdnmoh wrote:It fits the car mechanically..but its made in a way that it wont fit into the gti rearskirt cut out..Its made to fit lower than the cut out, at the natural position of the standard bumper..so it would fit at the bottom of the standard bumper but not as high as the cut out!! you can choose your tailpipe, you can choose the sound it makes... just tel them what you want and they'll do it!
a small back box will make it louder, and two channels make it boomier, and should be around £200 fitted? how much was yours?
the custom price they gave was, £150 fitted..and the scorpion was £245 fitted.. I asked for one that was quiet they didnt say they could adjust it..im just gonna go bak 2them right now and see what they say..carmadaaron wrote:the whole idea of custom is 'custom' lolabdnmoh wrote:Thought maybe the custom build one would have been a bit too noisy..might be forced to get that now.. the bracket idea wont work, as the shape of the actual box is elongated like this (), instead of being elongated horizontally as normal ones are, its elongated vertically..carmadaaron wrote: i think in that case you'll need a custom made bracket to hold it up at the right position... why didnt you go custom made btw?

Basically a new pipe needs to be made up to join it with the front section, its called 'refabricating'..He says its not hard for a good s/s exhaust place to do..
Cheers guys!!Hopefully the dealer will agree to do it now!
