I know, heresy on this forum but here goes!
I'm so fed up with the problems that we've had with our 1.4 SE tdi Polo that I'm seriously considering p/ex it for a Skoda Fabia RS 130bhp. We will almost certainly lose a lot of money but my wife in particular has lost all confidence in the Polo.
The strange thing is that the RS is slightly cheaper than the 100bhp Elegance Fabia so it seems good value. I'm told that the insurance rating is a reasonable group 9.
I'd be grateful for any constructive comments (positive and/or negative) especially from anyone who has driven the Fabia and may have experience of Skoda dealers around Merseyside and/or North Wales.
Sorry about this but a happy new year to you all.
Fabia RS!!!?
Get one... you wont regret it... (not that im biased at all)

Hope you don't mind but I'm gonna move this to the club house seeing as this isn't the 9n being discussed.
To be honest, your buying a car where a good 70-80% of the mechanical parts are built buy the same companies, in the same countries and in the same factories. So whos to say your not going to have these problems all over again? Look on www.peachorlemon.co.uk, people are having the same problems as us
I think Skoda are on a roll at the moment not because they present better cars than the company that own them, but because its a mix or cheaper pricing and customers expecting allot less from the brand.
Now I hear allot of people say you get VW quality for Skoda money and to be honest, its crap really! Theres no such thing as a reliable car, dependables the best word you could use nowadays.
I had a look at the Fabia VRS with a view to buying it. Now don't get me wrong, seriously nice car but the interior was terrible and some of the detailing left allot to be desired even to a S model 9n like mine
You gets what ya pays for and all that.

A mate of mine has one and he loves it. It's 182bhp/326 lb.ft IIRC.
I seriously considered one too but I was put off by the interior. I found the car to be fantastic other than that. If you can put up with that then it's a great buy.
Alternatively there is the Ibiza TDI Sport (the car I went for) which can be got for good prices, 3 or 5 door.

I brought my vRS because it has a better quality (although the Ibiza's looks a little nicer) interior and looks meaner, rather than a lowered std Ibiza with body colour dials in the dash.toXXin wrote:A mate of mine has one and he loves it. It's 182bhp/326 lb.ft IIRC.

It is also cheaper for the same car with 5 doors by 2 grand.
Alright colin, how you diddling?
You too can get it to 182bhp by visitin www.jabbersport.co.uk, www.auto-amd.com or buying one of the many performance boxes on sale in diesel car magazine.
