get some carb cleaner from halfords, and use a cotton cloth with no bits on it!

easy job to do.

which engine do you have?

remove the air filter housing (big black plastic thing on top) and where the housing goes into the engine there is a nice metal circular thing. clean that with carb cleaner and the engine running. the engine won't love the cleaner, but it won't do any harm.

Yeh if your like me you will panic a bit when you try to clean it out. When you spray it in the engine will stutter and choke. But its ok, it will survive... and if this isnt normal then err... help? lol. Am i sitting ong a time bomb!!!! lol.

Nah my cars fine, well seems to be...

But like the above guy says its a really simple job definately a DIY. Not worth paying someone else to do it.
