MkV Polo 1.4 SE TDI

Post by Gavster68 »

Hello there, I am pretty new to this site but thought to give it a try as I am in a bit of a pickle with my Polo. I have a 2000 X reg. Polo 1.4 SE TDI and the other day I have noticed that the rev gauge is not sitting at the 0 (zero) mark when I turn the car off. And when I start the car it actually idles at below zero too. However, the car to me sounds fine when just ticking over. The guage actually falls somewhere quite close to the fuel gauge. Can anyone give me a bit guidance as to what the could be. Many many thanks Gavin. p.s. If anyone needs one I can possibly try to get a photo on. Cheers Gav

hmmm that is weird! if i were you mate, i'd take it straight to vw and get them to quickly plug it in and see if there are any fault codes showing! could be a dodgy gauge!

how long has it been doing this?

ps- welcome to the forum!

To be honest I don't know, maybe a week or so, I actually noticed it and thought 'could that be right?' but then peeked through a window of one on my street and found out this is not the case. I'll take it up the VW garage tomorrow and see if I can get them to stick it on the computer and have a look.

I'll get back to you with the progress (of which I do hope there is some) many thanks for the reply.
