WILL 17" WHEELS FIT ON POLO 6n2 OK??

Post by jon44 »

I am the proud owner of a vw polo 6n2 which at the moment has some 14" wheel caps on. i was considering putting some 17" rims on there. has anyone put 17" rims on and have they been ok. as in not scraping against the arches etc. please let me know

I dont mean to offend any of my fellow polo members running 17's but on a personal been there done that view - i think the 6n2 model looks and handles alot better on either 16s or 15s and lowered.

If you do go the 17s route make sure your running 195's otherwise you'll need some arch work - actually you'll need arch work if your lowering it too

just my 2 pence worth

I urge u to reconsider ur choices here. 16 is really the maximum size id stick on a polo. 14-15" is perfect id say.

also having anything bigger than 15s slows down the polo quite considerably and you can actually tell the difference

I will certainly be going for smaller lighter wheels when i replace mine... the person i bought the car off prefered the balance of the car with the original smaller wheels also...

Had 17s, scrubbing everyday even with archwork although car was lowered 55mm.

Still needed more serious slammage... got sick and now running on 13 inch steelies 8)

Go for 17s if your gonna match it with serious arch work and slammage. Oh yeah and say goodbye to handling and taking corners at speed. Plus it will probably end up f*****g up your tracking.

But hey if your still loving the idea of 17s go for it

I wouldnt say 17s look s**t coz they are so big, i thought my old wheels were sexual.

Personal taste of course. 8)

My old MK5 had 17" RS4's and was lowered 30mm all round.

I liked them - but with the GTI im sticking with the standard 15" wheels !#

What's wrong with 15" wheels?

It seems like you have taken them out of the equation.
