2003 Polo non working rear wash.

Post by vwfan »

Anyone any ideas where the joint is for the rear and front washer pipes?
Polo 1.2 Twist 2003.
I have front washers working fine.
No rear wash.
Water drips under ABS unit.
Found a pipe close to ABS unit which could be to rear wash but no connections anywhere near.

I have had the wheel liner off to examine the pump-everything looks OK.

This has me puzzled.

I had to reconnect mines the other week, i had to take my airbox out and underneath it you`ll see where the pipe has come off, i put a little bit of superglue on the edge of the pipe then rejoined them, mines is a gt but should be the same set up, hope this helps

Dazza,

Thanks but even with the airbox removed there is no obvious pipework to join.

The pipes from the washer bottle look as though they are running up towards the wipers.

i had the same pain in the arse problem there is a join under the airbox but if thats not lose where does the water seem to be leaking if at all becouse there is another connection in the boot passenger side it runs very close to the rear seatbelt retainer behind the carpet.

I have found where the connection should be.

Behind the felt-behind the ABS unit. The ECU has to be lifted to see also.

At least thats where the water comes out when the rear wash is pressed.

Unless something has fallen off I cannot get the pipe to connect. It will be a very tight fit-ie short pipe-accute turns.

There seems to be a hole in the bulkhead that will take the rear washer pipe-with hands like shovels I cannot make it.

If this is correct the design is poor.

Will try again later.

Thanks for your help.

yep it's a pain mate, but there should be enough room to reconnect. reconnecting is also tough as it's a tight fit.

check to see if your pipe is caught on something, as I say there should be about 4" of slack.

OK its done.

Its a very tight fit-not as easy a job as I thought-but if it does happen again at least I know where to look.

Thanks for all the help.
