Turbo conversion - help needed with enigne mounts!

Hello!
I'm in the middle of converting my 16v 100bhp Polo to something even more fun - 1.8 turbo, 180bhp.
I know a few people out there have had this done to their cars, so I hope you can help me here; it's regarding engine mounts.
I'm wanting to use OEM mounts - but what mounts/part numbers do I need? JBS Autodesign told me that it would most likely be a Polo 9N mount, but they wouldn't tell me any more than that (the misery-guts! ) so I'm hpoing that somebody out there might be able to shed light on my problem ,or put me in touch with somebody who can.

Well, yes and no. Yes, in that the easiest thing to do is buy Golf Mk4 engine mounts and do some metalwork - but in the end I've opted to let the guys at VAGtech finish the work by making up some custom mounts. It'll cause the least disruption in the engine bay.

BTW - if anyone is thinking of doing this conversion, I'll be glad to advise.
Mine was a 6N2 16V model, but it'll shortly have the following:
1.8T AUQ engine, 180BHP with Leon Cupra 6-speed box, hydraulic clutch. Full Bosch Motronic ECU conversion.
Samco silicone turbo inlet hose with Jetex induction, Forge FMIC. Bailey alloy dump valve, sports cat, Powerflow exhaust. EBC turbo discs , Bilstein/Eibach suspension, Powerflex polybushes. ZEX NOX system, but jetted down to 35 BHP boost. Skoda Fabia VRS driveshafts - these are a must.

It goes off for surgery on Saturday - I cannot bloody WAIT to get it out to the Nurburgring and see what difference it makes!!!!

Yes, John's been nothing except a hero helping me finish off my work...and when the time comes for chipping and a nice big Garrett, it's him I'll be talking to. Although a mate of mine did mention an interesting thought that might well become my next project, and that's slotting a V5 engine into a 6N2. Nice and smooth power, and that lovely 5-cylinder purrr....reminds me of the old Audi Quattro! Wonder if that's been done?
The Polo's spot on for my needs as a Ring Toy, small car with a healthy dollop of power. Seriously, any small care with decent suspension is good on the Nordschleife; the old faithful Mk2 Golf is still one of the quickest cars out there.

If your gonna pm him send me one aswell lol. Cant be much difference between a N2 conversion from an N and i always said id fancy a bit mroe power heh heh.

Speaking of which...

Out of interest whats the difference between the 100bhp 6N and the N2? If theres not much difference then that broadens he scope of me looking for an engine to play with in my spare time. i intend on getting one to fiddle with in the garage over summer

Not that i know much on engines mind lol. But still i like spanners and i like making things explode so no matter the outcome i should be satisfied haha. shabba.

EBC turbo discs , Bilstein/Eibach suspension

Nice choice of modifications you have listed, but I would suggest looking for an upgrade to the brake calipers themselves, rather than just using aftermarket discs (apologies if you are/have).

I have Bilstein B8's on my 6n2 along with Eibach Pro-kit. I would suggest using sportline springs if using the car on track regularly.

Well, that's that. My wagon is in the hands of VAGtech, I am fully expecting to be brassic for a wee while (and when I've got the final total, I'll PM you guys ) but where I've managed to save a few pennies is to source the engine myself, then strip it down and rebuild it myself. Time is what costs you money, naturally.
The bit that took me longest was the electrical work; switching the car from the native Marelli ECU to the Bosch Motronic ECU for the turbo engine was quite a task. I ended up effectively making up some new looms and a new mini fusebox. It's a good job I'm handy with the soldering iron!
If people want to be kept up-to-date with progress, that's cool - Jon is sending me photos so I'll post them up here. Oh, and if people want rides, that's also cool, but I do my track driving over at the Ring (got 60+ laps under my belt there) so if you're after a REAL cool drive...

Point taken. The EBC discs are now a stop-gap measure what with the up-rated power; I'll need to look for some bigger callys and discs alright. I'm not after anything too raucous in appearance though - thoughts and suggestions?
