door pocket speaker mounts

Post by SpikeyG40 »

has anyone seen these door pockets which have the space to put a speaker in?

i have only really seen them special order from halfords and they are around £200! yukes!

they look really smart and i was wondering if anyone has them and where to get them cheaper! i could always buy some new speakers that go in the standard speaker holes but that would mean doing a bit of cutting and drilling! anyone have any ideas? or alternatives?
thanx in advance

The audioscape door speaker pods are £170 a set. I have some, they are good but mine had to go back due to trim defects. I have a new set which I havent fitted yet.

those front speakers are a bit tight in there, i was having a place to run some speaker cable n cd changer cable to the rear of my car! blimey, is there any easy way to do it cause i spent hours trying to thread it down to the back! i gave up in the end n decided to see how to get the speakers out of the front! how do they unclip? i have been told that with a bit of work, u can get some 10cm speakers in there, but how would u drill the holes to fix it in with? the windscreen gets in the way!

Or if you're still hanging around halfords, get some of their 8cm JBLs... they'll go in the place of the original nasty VW paper cones and are a grand upgrade for forty quid. Just have to cut one little bit of plastic off the inside of the covers - and screw or glue them in if you want to be REALLY diligent :D

Mind you some proper large cans up front wouldn't go amiss. The hobo-spec stealth shelf still cant supply enough bass in all situations, what with being 8ohm and all... (oh yeah, get yourself some 6x9s for the rear holes or something!)
