16v have 14/15'' alloys/bigger bumpers/clear and darkened lights all round/ 16v plastered on the rocker cover.

An 8v engine should look like this:

the 16v engine is twice the width of an 8v and looks cooler. If your engine has a sort of metal look to it and is very long then its 8v if its boxy bigger and has 16v written on it then there you go lol

Also standard 16v's hav 16v written on the back of the car. No 8v has a badge flashing off its mighty 8 valves. Though mine will,,, one day lol.

1) accelerate

if it goes well, it's a 16v

;)

in all honesty the engine is the best bet. all other things can be had as options on the 8v models.

I think the redline is higher too. if it revs easily above 5k then it's a 16v motor.

Rich, do you have the grill/mesh type bit that goes above the spark plugs? If that is yours of course.

Yours looks like mine, the HT leads come up too high for it to fit. I might spend the money on some OEM leads instead of the GSF ones cos it looks much better when it fits.
