oil grade's

hey guys mmm i need to change my oil on my car cuz its knockin so bad and it sounds more like a deisel and some of you guys did tell me and i forgot so could any of you guys help again please thanks for the help guys its a mk5 1.4 8v if that helps abit more?

If your car's petrol i recommend 10w 40 thats what i put in my car...
