Post by pip_polo »

i want a mk5 1.2/1.0 insted of my mk4 1.4

how much am i roughly looking for a decent one?

i really like Bens mk5 on here he has the same colour as mine.
i'd like either silver, black, red or grey.

It's not poverty spec, it's just lightweight. Well, that's what I used to say when I had mine...

the 1.0 and the 1.0e are the same thing. You don't get a 1.2, it then goes up to the 1.4 8v

there aren't many specs in mk5s,
starts off with base e with pretty much everything mechanical
S gets colour coded bumpers and cup holders and central locking if I'm right
SE gets you sunroof/electric windows/fog lights/central locking/alloy wheels 14"
then 16v with sports seats and 15" alloys
GTI with Split rims/Xenons/15mm lowered suspension/rear spoiler

silver - looks good, even when a little dirty. But...when you put a s**t load of work in to cleaning your car like i do, you don't get the rewards you'd get with a dark colour.

red - looks good but fades worst in the sun

dark colours - look good when clean but are a b***h to keep that clean and scratches show up like hell
