another newbie

Post by markdavies »

just wanted to say hello to you all and was wondering if anyone could help me.

i have recently bought a 51 plate polo match three door and have a question about the passenger side window. when the window is fully down and you hold the switch to close the window, it gets about half the way up then goes right down to the bottom on its own accord. im not sure if this is some kinda child safety thing or what ever but can it be oven ridden to work like a normal window??

thanks

Welcome to uk-p mate, the window problem could be the motor but i'm not too sure about that, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to help you.

Sounds like a damaged cog - search the MKV part of the forum for window problems. Its been covered countless times :)

check the wiring from the door to the car, a common fault with the polos is the wiring tends to snap or fray causing irractic window movements, as i finally realised this in my gti.
