1997 R reg 6N10P4 16v in Memory Red [not pink] Paint code L274 I think.
I bought it towards the end of January 2007 and was driving it from mid February after doing a couple of bits to it. Fitted my Pioneer headunit fairly soon after getting it on the run.
When I first bought it, a little bit dirty but nothing a good wash didn't fix:

and with my old Polo 1.6 GLX:

Checked the brakes to find the front disc's were quite unevenly worn:

So put a couple of new ones on [256mm]:

Fitted:

Checked my cam belt, looked ok:

Then fitted my exhaust off of my old Polo, I didn't want to cut the bumper this time so had to weld a new bit of pipe into it. The weld was a bit messy but didn't leak so did the job:

On the car:

Didn't go too well and stuck out the back too far, just right for somebody to stand on and brake the mounts. It was also quite a bit louder on the 16v compared to the GLX, so I took it off again. Cleaned and re-mounted the number plate too because it was hanging off on one side. Cleaned the car too:

Next up was some wheels off good old eBay! I didn't check what the centre core was first stupidly. It turns out they are originally Toyota wheels made in 93-94. The centre bore was too small for the Polo, so I got them machined out at an engineering place to the 57.1mm required:

They are 6.5j and 7j so plenty of dish on the back [complete with hand to show dish

Then got my sub fitted along with JBL components up front:

Bought some Kuhmo tyres and fitted wheels:

Obviously some lower-age is now required when funds allow.

Thats pretty much how it looks now. Forgot to mention I swapped the orange side repeaters for smoked ones. Also changed the valves on the front wheels for flush fit ones because the old valves leaked air, turned out to be the 'O rings had perished. Will get pics sometime.

Back in April Rachel [aka Chally_Rai] and I met up and went for a bit of a drive upon Dartmoor, which of course was a great place for photo opportunities.
Like Haytor!

Although you might get caught behind a tractor:

Very picturesque:

There's even other Dub's there to play with! lol

I think this is my favourite photo of the day, hence its use in my signature:
