couple of questions alloys, bumpers

Post by JoeG07 »

bit of a noob so heres a couple of questions:

- How do i know which alloys will fit my car? Will any 15" 4 stud ones to do the trick?

- How do i remove the bumper strips from the side of the car?

- where is the best place to get a a standard 16v bumper to stick on my 8valver? Are breakers any good 4 this?

Cheers x

the side strips are just stuck on with strong glue! we de stripped the sides of my g/fs mk4 by heating the glue slightly first with a hair drier and then carefully peeling the strips off.
some of the laquer did get removed aswell but shes not too worried about this as shes gonna get a full respray soon hopefully!

as for 16v bumpers, she managed to get a full set, practically in mint condition from ebay for around £200. she was lucky in my opinion as the week before, we'd watched a front bumper go for £165 (incomplete) and a rear go for £120!

as for alloys, they have to have 4 studs and have a PCD of 4x100 and the correct centre bore for vw fitment which is 57.1 i think? and the offset has to be between 30 and 40 or the wheels could stick out from the arch if they are too wide!

hope some of this helps :D
