Fitting Bulbs

how do u replace the bulbs on the tdi?
i got my philips blue vision through 2day and i havent a clue how to replace them ???

i have a tdi dont know if its diff from the petrol to replace?

Will be exactly the same, just a pigs ar5e to do, due to the extra cr4p that comes with diesel engines.

The nearside is easy enough, just locate where the bulb goes, remove the cover and extract the bulb. The offside is another story because the fuel filter is in the way. If you are really stuck on this side, post again and I'll list how you get at it.
For our Danish friend - The instruction book with the 9n gives no info whatsoever about replacing bulbs. They are '...... best left to your authorised dealer because of the complexity of modern vehicles'!!!!

It's just a case of dealers extracting as much money as possible out of people. However, the offside front bulbs on the tdi 9n are probably way beyond the capabilities of your average punter; and as for the parking light bulbs on a Mk 4 Golf! I believe that the front valance has to be dropped to get at them.

I thought the parking light was the side light?? although the lights in the Fabia diesel are a right pig ear to change. On one side you have the diesel fuel filter (the petrol does not have this problem) and on the other side you have the battery as close to the front as you can without making it impossible to remove the light bulbs.

Yeah at least you 9n boys can change your lightbulbs yourselves if you want to...(even though it's a PITA to do)...

I have to take my bumper off and remove each light completely to change any bulbs...

Damn HID's!

(Takes 1.5 hours to change a bulb on mine, in case anyone wondered)

I'm glad i left the xenons of my options then sod that for a laugh!!

Well it was either wait for one to be built with xenons (I brought the car on day 2 of release) or be the first person in London, one of the first in the country to own a vRS. And as my last car was jinxed i wanted to get rid of it ASAP, so took the only car the dealer had and picked it up that saturday (they were all given one car until the week after launch).
