Thanks man, glad some one is supportive. If it makes any difference to all you pricks, Ive devloped bad whiplash and my beautiful, beloved DUB is a write off.

It happened about half 11 at night there were no small children wandering the streets. It was a straight road no cars were going to pull out of anywhere. Slowing down to "p*** him off even more" is a bloody stupid idea if some maniac is behind you trying to kill you.

Of course driving fast is stupid don't think i don't know that! Jesus! But dont pretened that none of you ever break the speed limit or spend thousands making your cars go faster?! WTF?!

Glad to know my fellow polo drivers are all here for me in this time of need.

if someone was following me like that i couldn't care less about the 30mph

obviously the person in the van wasn't happy to shunt him and follow him doing that speed so panic does set in.

++why is that a rite off?

no sympathy what so ever towards you due to your attitude throughout this.
and i think you'l find you're the prick due to your driving. all it would have taken was for you to carry on your way at the same speed. 30mph or 70mph, the guy in the van isnt 'going to get you' regardless.
i can say hand on heart in the last 2 years i have never put my foot down in a residential area.
when one of your mates die in a car accident, when they were not behind the wheel it makes you stop, think, and take a reality check.
i do not condone any sort of speeing on the slow roads, yes we all have abit of fun here and there on the open road, but certainly not where pedestrians could be put danger.
in the town centre you say there wasnt kids around at 11:30, ever thought about the drunks coming out of the pubs? they have the same mentality of kids when it comes to road safety after a few drinks.
i think if you'd come onto here and described your incident in a different manor, not so much the show off attention seeking style, you may have got a totally different response.

you have no idea how much i appreciate this comment - SOMEONE understands where i was coming from! Its a wright off coz its a 10 year old car and pretty much every bit of body work has some sort of damage to even though it drives fine its an "unviable repair." I think im going to fix it up myself though by replacement parts from a breaker and get the scratches sprayed by a mate whos a body kit guy.

attitude like that wont get you far...
Lack of driving experience and maturity is what I think led to your erratic driving methods.
Whats the damage on the car? above pic? It ain't a write off... no matter what the damage is its fixable...trust me I know.

I suggest this whole topic is deleted and maybe [just maybe] started again, not expecting any sympathy.

Sorry to hear about your car - yes i don't agree with the residential speeding as others have mentioned, irrelevant of what time of day/night it is.

Tip of advice for future reference - if you are worried about someone following you - go to somewhere where there are lots of camera's that is well lit - somewhere like a supermarket petrol station. That way they are less likely to confront you as they will be fully aware that they are on camera.

yeah I was only messing, half the time i'm one of those drunk people....not looking for a fight though..haha

To be honest I just think people jump down each others throats a bit quickly about speeding, not saying what speed he was doing was right, or what area it was in. Everyone speeds once in a while, but it was hardly the point of the thread,

As for this incident I totally don't agree with speeding in a built up area but i'm very suceptable to road rage, if someone pisses me off I will do anything in my power to return the feeling, having some crazy white van driver attempting to dent my rear bumper would have made me speed up any day of the week, and it would have got to the point where all I would have wanted to do was get rid of the maniac before i got home.

I'm not saying I don't have sympathy for the fact that your car has been damaged, I just don't think you helped the situation by speeding so much, 70 in a residential area is over twice the speed limit.

If you'd been caught by the police you would have ended up in court, if you'd killed someone probably prison.

Also had you been going 30 and he'd rear ended you there probably would have been less damage.

You need to consider it from another point of view, imagine you had a kid sister, just turned 18 or something, goes out, get mullered with mates, walking home and crossing the road, she's wiped out and killed by someone doing 70 in town. Imagine what you'd feel towards the person who did it.

you really are stupid arn't you. wake up, please.

if that was everyone's attitude there would NOT BE speed limits. thankfully there is limits and you and you're jelly bean of a brain don't run the country.

the reason limits are in place is so that you have adequate time to react. if the limit is 40mph, then the local authorities deem 36.57m a suitable stopping distance if a hazard is spotted.

when you're traveling at 70mph, it takes 96.01m to bring your car to a stop. thats nearly 3 times the distance, nobody would stand a chance.

im now starting to feel thankfull this guy has done this to you on the roads because the type of person you are portraying yourself to be online obviously reflects the type of character you are on the roads.
the sad thing is you haven't learned a thing from this and won't take on board any of the comments on here, you're just looking for sympathy.
you've been taught a lesson, but you haven't learned, one day you will learn your lesson and you might not be so lucky. you'l either be in hospital due to your own driving antics, in hospital with broken limbs due to crossing the wrong person or you might be lucky, you could be sitting at home fit and well, but you have someone elses death on your conscience.
