Since I owned my car the passengers side window was always broken it would go down about 2 cm but no more. I just completely avoided using it in fear of it not going up again. I was getting fed up with this so yesterday I whipped the door card off to investigate. Firstly I found that a red clip with a spring on was not in the right place so I put it back hoping it may fix it but no joy. The motor doesn’t sound healthy at all it keeps clunking and grinding if you try to use it.
I was wondering does this mean the motor is screwed or is there an easy way to fix this? Also I couldn’t work out how to get the motor out either so some tips on that would be helpful.
And if anyone is breaking a mk4 polo with working electric windows let me know as I mite be interested in one.
Cheers,
TOM

What! Since when? Just because when I lost my glass inside my door in the middle of Dartmoor and you saw me strip it down and re-fit it, seeming like I know what I'm doing makes me no expertChally_Rai wrote:Steve B is an expert on Mk4 windows
Ok so maybe I've had the doors apart a few times.
I'll post in the 'Power windows died on your Mk4?' thread 'cos it may help some others
