Open the bonnet, remove 4 torx screws that hold the grille in.

Then use the screwdriver to pry up 4 hingies behind the grille (poke it through the honeycombes on the bottom).

Take out the grille, then twist the VW logo (not sure if its left or right) and pull out!

Tada!

There is a small tab behind the badge at the top, you can get to this by lifting the bonnet and slipping your hand down the back of the grill. Give it a squeeze while turning the badge anti-clockwise. Turn the badge about a quarter turn and should then just pull out.

Once the badge is out you can then carefully split the chrome VW part from the part that holds it into the grill by gently pushing the tabs at the rear of the badge, but be careful not to break any.
