Is it legal to have two different makes of suspension on your car????
ie. Spax Coilovers on the Rear and FK on the front?
im asking this because my front right spax coilover has started leaking oil and its making a horrible noise when driving! i've always wanted the car to be lower at the front so FK would suit the front, but im unsure if this would pass an MOT
any help please would be great.
also i have a whirring noise coming from the rear, its not the exhaust and only starts when i go over about 20mph and gets slightly louder
help!!!
cheers

hey Ben long time no speak, how is the car looking now? get all the problems (aprt from new ones) sorted?
i am also under the impression that the whirring noise is a wheel bearing, believe me i know what that sounds like!
i would also think its fine to have 2 different suspension set ups on the car as long as they are safe and maintained! just look at the caddys that get modified, i'm pretty sure they don't make a specific kit for a caddy so parts from other kits have to be used!
hope you are well mate!

Yeah mate its fine as long as your suspension is safe and not casing any issues ! My mate had C2 Rear Springs on his Skda for years mate !polopowah wrote:cheers guys
i think the whirring noise is a bearing, hope they aren't too expensive andf i suppose i will have to buy two one for each rear wheel to even things out?
so if im getting this right i can have two different makes of suspension on my car ie Spax rear and Fk front

Ian R ; thanks thats giving me more confidence, i shall be investing in some fk fronts to slam it down abit!
Dan ; yo Dan, its been awhile hasn't it! yeah its ok thanks, its all repaired since the last crash, minus the reiger splitter.
Lots to do on in and cash is low! eek
Saturday im doing my own oil change (never done one before so any tips haha, care to share?)
and im gonna order new wheel bearings and the suspension.
I would love to get some new alloys but im limited to small mods now unfortunately, due to having moved out for the last year!
but i would like a ibiza splitter and a bonnet bra.
how are you?
hows yoyr car? last i heard you had it lowered on coilies, and that seems ages ago!
cheers

yeah it has been a while!
car is ok, bumper the cupra splitter on a curb and pulled some of the pop rivets out so its looking a bit crap there but the rest is ok!
its now down 70mm at the front and i got holes in the arches
but its all good and i got the BBS RXii from ebay and got them colour coded which went down well on all the forums i'm on! also got a nice subtle twin exit exhaust from the ibiza FR which i like!
not sure what else to do to it really which won't cost a bomb lol
