Lil help??

Post by Tetsuo_83 »

Ok so here's the deal Ive a set of 15"x7.5" wheels ET25, the polo GTi is supposed to have 35-45mm ET with a 6" wheel.

Heres the problem(s): Ive dropped it only 40mm and it rubs on the front on full lock. Thats a minor problem
The big problem is, ive been told that with an ET that far out my bearings are going to fail... I dont understand why though, I know of people running 8" wide wheels with ET25-27 and theyve had no problems!

Answers to both problems would be great...thanks :D

(oh and I cant use spacers up front as the tyre thread is already pretty much in line with the metal!)

you'll be fine!!!

I'm running 7.5 on the front and 8's on the back and im a hell of a lot lower than 40mm.

You'll know when your bearings start to fail......you'll hear a sort of grinding rotational noise. When you start hearing that, get her booked in for a change. I dont think that havin 7.5 is going to overly affect it that much!

You could run them, just remove them come MOT time. There's always a small possibility that you'd get pulled up on it but some might say its worth the risk.
